Tasting Notes

Our 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp, refreshing, vibrant wine with a rich palate feel. The nose has heady citrus and lemongrass aromas. On the palate it opens with a wonderful tartness, showing its characteristic bright acidity and rolling into pleasing flavors of fresh nectarines, gooseberry and herbaceous notes. Serve well chilled.

Winemaker Notes

Harvested on September 11, 2018 and pressed using whole clusters to bring out the freshness of the juice, our Sauvignon Blanc was fermented in stainless steel tanks with no secondary malolactic fermentation to maintain its zesty profile. The wine was then aged in stainless steel barrels to maintain its flavor intensity for approximately 7 months and bottled on March 21, 2019. A small amount of wine fermented in concrete tanks was added to the final blend for added weight and texture.

SoMa Cellars’ Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc is crisp, clean, refreshing and pairs well with appetizers, finger food, sushi, spicy Asian dishes, mild fish or seafood, fruit and mild cheeses.  It is also great as a starter wine to get the palate prepared for the meal or your wine tasting event!
